(MoC) is the federal government ministry concerned with providing basic telecommunications services to the public, government, and businesses. The MoC provides postal service to the general public and manages postal savings accounts. It also runs the State Company for Internet Services and represents Iraq at international organization such as the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the Universal Postal Union (IPU).
THE IRAQI MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) is responsible for higher education and scientific research in the country as it monitors the work of universities and allocates their budgets. It is also responsible for the sponsorship of Iraqi students to study in overseas universities. The Ministry is keen on conducting quantitative and quantitative changes in the scientific, technical and cultural process in Iraq. Furthermore, it directs the scientific and research organizations to create new generation which is provided with science and knowledge in order to make these organizations active and influential force in the Iraqi community.
The Ministry also aims at developing the scientific and cultural relations; extending the friendly relations with other countries as well as scientific and academic institutions over the world in order to achieve harmony and integration in the fields of science and knowledge.
It has an active participation at GTX-I each year by an official representing stand as well as through numerous participating universities and colleges in the exhibition and conference.
BAGHDAD INTERNATIONAL FAIR
The State Company for Iraqi Fairs and Commercial Services \ Baghdad International Fair (Exhibitions and Convention Center) is a self-financed economic unit enjoying moral personality and financial and administrative independence. It is a result of its merge with the State Company for Import and Export according to the decision of the Council of Ministers No. 152 in 2010.
The Company is one of the Ministry of Trade’s forthmations.
Headquarters of the company – Baghdad, having the right to open branches inside and outside Iraq.
The Branches of the company (Basra and Ninewa) are organizing the import and export activities and services, holding specialized exhibitions in the province in coordination with the headquarters and concerned authorities and granting import and export licenses to government offices and public, mixed and private sectors.
